100% Redress Party endorses ‘The People’s Document’

The 100% Redress Party has written to Michael Doherty endorsing 'The People's Document'

The 100% Redress Party has officially endorsed The People’s Document (“the Document”).

The Document, which is the idea of homeowner Michael Doherty, sets out what is required to achieve a genuine 100% redress scheme for all those with properties affected by defective concrete.

The initiative was launched at a public meeting on 4 March 2024.

Representatives from all political parties will be invited to publicly endorse the document at a follow-up meeting to be held on 26 March 2024 at The Inishowen Gateway Hotel, Buncrana.

Tomas Sean Devine, Chair of the Party, has sent the following letter to Mr Doherty on 22 March 2024:

“Dear Michael,

THE PEOPLE’S DOCUMENT

On behalf of the 100% Redress Party, I would like to thank you, Paddy Diver, Lisa Doherty, Roisin Gallagher, Lisa Hone and the Mica Action Group, for preparing The People’s Document (“the Document”).

We welcome the initiative which will, hopefully, move us closer to securing a genuine 100% redress scheme for all those affected by defective concrete.

This evening, a special meeting of the Executive Committee of the 100% Redress Party was convened to consider the Document.

I am delighted to confirm that the Committee unanimously voted to endorse The People’s Document. However, we would like to see all properties in Northern Ireland, built with defective concrete products purchased in Ireland, included within the definition of a true 100% redress, and not just those property owners who are paying tax in the State.

I look forward to joining you and other affected property owners on 26 March 2024, to reiterate my Party’s support for the Document, and to discuss the next steps in the campaign.”
